Fade Fernando’s Picks From God 8.7.2020

Welcome back to another edition of Picks from God. Last week, the Mavericks completely forgot how to play basketball in the last 45 seconds of the 4th quarter en route to an overtime loss which bumped our record to 2-5 over the last 2 weeks. Nevertheless, we are back for more so without further ado here are the infamous Fade Fernando Picks from God© for Friday August 7, 2020.

Oklahoma City Thunder -4.5 vs. Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies have lost their first 4 games since the NBA restart began. Meanwhile, OKC is 2-1 and are coming off a big win against the Lakers. The line opened up at OKC -3 but quickly jumped to -4.5 as bettors love the Thunder in this one. Defensively, the Thunder are the much stronger team and should cover the spread against a declining Grizzlies squad.

Cincinnati Redsvs. Milwaukee Brewers (UNDER 8.5)

Trevor Bauer takes the hill for the Reds and he will be opposed by lefty Eric Lauer who was acquired from the Padres via trade this past offseason. Bauer has been exceptional this season and should fare well against a Brewers’ lineup that will be without Lorenzo Cain. Meanwhile, Eric Lauer is one of the top young lefties in the game and should find success against a Reds offense that has been practically non-existent this season. They have not scored in 23 consecutive innings. Lauer is 1-1 with the Reds with a 2.00 ERA in 4 career starts. Take the under in this one.

Houston Astros (+115) vs. Oakland Athletics

While Chris Bassitt has been phenomenal thus far, he has struggled against the Astros in previous seasons. The Astros’ big hitters such as Jose Altuve, George Springer, and Alex Bregman have all teed off of Bassitt as they’ve combined for 5 homeruns and a .333 average in a rather large sample size. The Astros may be only .500 on the season but their offense is ranked in the top 10 in most major offensive categories. Zack Greinke has a fantastic track record against the Athletics in his career as he’s posted an 8-2 record with a 2.78 ERA in 14 starts. Anytime the Astros have plus odds you take them and this time is no different.

Colorado Rockies (+110) vs. Seattle Mariners

The Rockies are playing great baseball to begin the young season. The Mariners haven’t. The Rockies are also getting plus odds. Don’t over think this one. Take the Rockies and that dangerous lineup.
