Picks from God 9.18.2021

Howdy and welcome back to the infamous Picks from God. An underperforming week 2 has our current record at 3-3 on the season. Nevertheless, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger and there is a nice slate of games to choose from this weekend. A slight Week 2 recap. Aggie fans, how do we feel about Zach Calzada and the Ags after that “thrilling” come from behind victory? Longhorn fans, are we back yet? Lastly, any Ohio State fans out there who think the Bucks are actually national title contenders this season? Without further ado, here are the infamous Picks from God.

Michigan State (+6)* at Miami

Michigan State has looked good to start the season; Miami has not. The Hurricanes got obliterated by Alabama and barely squeaked past Appalachian State last weekend. The Canes are dealing with some injuries which will hurt their depth as they lost starting LB Keontra Smith last weekend. That’s a tough blow to the run defense that will need everything to stop Michigan State’s rushing attack that is ranked 3rd in the nation in yards per carry. The Spartans are led by RB Kenneth Walker III who has had a tremendous start to the season. Look for the Spartans to keep it close in this one.

Northern Illinois at Michigan (Under 54)*

Michigan’s defense has looked stellar to start the season while the offense has looked pretty lackluster. The Wolverine defense won’t give up many points but their offense won’t score many either. I’m taking Michigan unders for the foreseeable future.

Nebraska at Oklahoma (-11.5 1H)* and (-22)*

Oklahoma is one of the best teams in the country and they play an underwhelming Nebraska team. At home, Oklahoma may cover the 22-point spread at the half. Sooner QB Spencer Rattler should have a field day against the Husker defense. Take the Sooners with confidence.

Alabama (-14.5)* at Florida

First National Bank of Saban is back. Yes, last weekend the Tide weren’t great against Mercer. However, that lackluster performance has Saban telling his team how much they stink. I refuse to bet against a motivated Alabama team who has been told all week by Saban himself how they are quite possibly the worst football team on the face of the planet. Yes, the Tide are on the road in The Swamp but those type of environments never seem to faze them. Led by QB Bryce Young, the Tide face off against one of the nation’s worst passing defenses. There will be lots of points in this one and I think the Tide win by at least 17 points.
